Visiting this establishment is a family tradition after camping which is the ONLY reason I come here. the food is bland and outdated. The service is atrocious with unacceptable wait times. If I was not with a group I would not voluntarily eat here. They constantly get orders wrong and the food has to be sent back regularly. If you do choose to eat here stick with regular simple entrees and you may find it palatable.

Food is pretty good but service is some of the worst I have ever had. The chips are really good, obviously home made. The bean dip that comes with the chips is quite good too. I just really struggle with the horrible service, we have been four or five times and it has been bad every time. I keep going back because I like the food but my patience is wearing thin. They are not the only Mexican place in the area.

Julie! What more can I say she's part time Wednesdays and Thursdays. So why three stars? If she had not been there we would have walked out. The staff is a family run business and we'll they are lazy and not Customer focused. Food was good but the Caso was not prepped right the kitchen staff did nothing to correct the issue. Ready for the kicker. Our server Julie was on point, understanding, took care of it! By her self. She was the acting mgmt for the evening. Long story, we were not pleased how lazy everyone there was except Julie. Combo dinner. Chicken and shredded beef recommendations not the ground beef. One of the buss boys laughed that the caso was not right and walked away. And a cook would come out front to flirt with the hostes. Yes I know all this while Julie was tending to a fully seated dinning room. She's not the boss to hire it's a family. They hired her, I give her Five Stars. That will be the only reason I return.

A little pricy and a little bland. There was a little hispanic girl that was so sweet and nice. I believe her name is Joselin. Practically the only person who seems she has had some customer service practice. love the decoration and the drinks. Would I come back? eeeh I don't think so I have had better mexican food. it was whatever I guess

This is a good place. I come here each time I visit my mom and have not been disappointed. Tonight's dishes was the Brocheta Cabo Blanco and it was by far the best dish I've tasted there! The special sauce, oh my. The servers could be a bit more attentive, but the food makes up for what the hostess and waitress lack

Is place is great with good service and a good time if it is as bad as all the reviews say it is then why is it always full and a wait to get in especially when cafe Rio is next door

Beware when you show up and one waitress is trying to serve 24 people on her own. Felt bad for her. Understaffed this morning

This is an amazing place with amazing food, and outstanding service. We came about 45 minuets after lunch opening, and there were maybe 5 tables occupied, and once we were about to leave there were maybe 7-8 tables for lunch. Our server, Aide, was a great server, and she had a good attitude towards us. The fresh chips are probably one of the best parts of the meal. They were just baked, so they were nice and warm. The salsa and the bean dip, could not have been any better. our meals were outstanding, and really authentic. Our family is proud to support this local Mexican restaurant.

Amazing food!!! I ordered the chile verde pork burrito and it was easily one of the best burritos I have ever had... We are here a few years ago and it was decent food but last night EVERYONE at our table was sharing food because ALL of our dishes were great!!!

  • Shannon S.

I'm sorry but how do you call this authentic Mexican food. Food is always bland and way over priced I I just can't stand canned meats in a restaurant that claims to be authentic. Wait one good point chips and bean dip are good and a decent margarita.

My family used to take everyone out to dinners here because they have the large (Momon family sized) tables! Lol. Also, it's a relaxed atmosphere and it would appear to be not very costly. I think they charge WAY too much (at times) based on poor service. I have a close friend I took to lunch, he literally took one bite, spat it out and we left promptly. I asked him what happened as we approcahed our car. He said he saw a bug ON his PLATE! (Roach, I think he said). After that, all I can do is warn YOU to not eat there. I'm sure getting drunk would work out (that was sarcastic!) I already told Applebee's to open up a spot in Heber because THERE IS A SERIOUS LACK OF GOOD, SIT-DOWN RESTAURANTS IN HEBER! I, for one will not 'settle' for blah food! I can make that all by myself!! Um, that's why we go out....?

After a week in Utah, we were dying for some Mexican food and happened upon Don Pedro. Their food hit the spot. Just great. Service was like family was taking care of you. I hope we have a chance to come back.

Crappy tex-mex and bad service. No soft tacos or al pastor. Good price on a large and tasty margarita was the only upside. Ate here on 12/28/11.

Rolled in here this past week and was impressed. Service was on point, food was solid, prices were reasonable and they have a hockey team - yeah, bonus points for a restaurant having a hockey team. I just made the rule. This is your classic family Mexican restaurant. Here's the rundown on the grub: -Chips & salsa: yup, I'm reviewing the chips & salsa since most Mexican restaurants are starting to sloppy on this one - Don Pedro nails it -Burrito Especial - especial is right. Haven't quite tasted a burrito like this one before. Had a unique to it - I would order it again. -Some Bacon wrapped Camarones dish I can't remember the name of - pretty good, but not mind blowing. Good enough to get me back there to order the Camarones al Mojo de Aljo. -Steak Picoso - very good and I would absolutely recommend it. Honest review is a 3.5, but the fact that I would return to explore more of the menu means they get a round up instead of a round down.

I sort of feel like a one might be more appropriate, since it's definitely not a super cheap place for the quality of food and service -- but I never got sick after eating here and I DID come twice. It's a moderately clean but poorly serviced restaurant. From waiting at the front for someone to get to you to sitting with an empty water glass waiting 10 or more minutes for someone to come take your order -- eating at Don Pedro's is a frustrating experience. Once you're able to get an order in, it's moderately fast to get your food, but if you actually would like a refill or to order anything else -- good luck getting anyone to pay attention to you before you lose interest. It's the sort of place you have to put out a credit card/cash when you're ready for the bill because otherwise you might spend another half-hour sitting with empty plates and a glass full of ice. Well, I still had to spend another 15 minutes each time waiting -- but at about that mark I usually get up and find someone to assist. Food is mediocre, but with standard large portions. After multiple visits hoping the service issue was a fluke, I will no longer return here.

I hate to be so negative, but this place just wasn't good. -- Service was slow. We sat down for about 15 minutes before even a drink order came out -- Quality of food was just terrible. I had the carne asada -- a very small portion of steak in a bland marinade. The chicken chimichanga was worse... it tasted like plain chicken wrapped in a fried tortilla. Again, not trying to be a hater. Nobody there was mean, etc. It just was not good. I'm not a local to Heber City, but will make a point to try another place next time I am out that way.

Horrible. Full of smoke from burned fajitas. My Nachos were not only made with the wrong meat but the meat was not fully cooked. It is hard to believe that one can mess up Nachos but they did. Don't bother with this place, as the food was subpar. Likewise, service was below average as well.

Had the house Special Fajits, nothing special, overall it was average IMO.

I am a local and this is really the only family restaurant in town....unfortunately. It used to be pretty good. Something has changed. The service is really awful. We went there tonight and there were only about 7 tables occupied. It took a while to get seated which was ok. We sat for about 10 minutes before we were even given utensils and water glasses. They only brought 5 glasses for 6 people. We never did get a menu. I actually got up and went to the hostess' station and got my party menus myself. We waited another 10 minutes and never did see a server. This is pretty much the way it has been the last 3 or 4 times we've been here. I want to like this place because they are local, but it just has the worst service ever. The food is sub par as well. We have gone back several times to support the local business, but I think we are done. Sorry.

We took a wrong turn, and ended up wandering the Utah mountains for hours. When we rolled into Don Pedro's we weren't yet starving, but we thought we might be before we got home. The place was packed for a Sunday evening, and it was a little slow seating us and getting our food, but I could tell the staff was hopping, so it's no worry to me. The chips and salsa on the table were really good. There was also frijoles with chirizo that was tasty. My pop got impulsive and ordered the whole gamut of non-alcoholic pina colodas. The plain and berry were good, but the kiwi was rather flat. I wasn't a fan of whipped cream on top,but it was easy to avoid. My hunny and I decided to share the special of the day which was fajitas. The steak was really good, and ample stuff to go on. We didn't get enough tortillas, but they brough us more upon asking. When the ticket came, it was pleasant low. I felt that it was a good price for what I got. If I get lost in that neck again, I may stop by.
